A phenomenal horse named Doctor Peyo appears to possess an astounding ability, recognizing when individuals are inflicted with tumors or cancer. He spends his time consoling those with malignancy who are in critical condition.

According to this horse’s page, his services have been packaged into a non-profit organization called Les Sabots du Coeur. They are a therapy-focused establishment that is researching Peyo’s gifts.

TIME TO WORK

There are numerous pictures on this page of Doctor Peyo fulfilling his altruistic duties. Some are of him with patients, others with doctors and nurses, and several are of this beauty enjoying his time off.

Doctor Peyo has identified numerous cases of tumors and cancer.

According to this account, the horse’s focus is on helping those who are terminally ill. On top of this, it states that his vocation is also to specifically assist children who have cancer.

The page also lists the name of his trainer Hassen Bouchakour. The two have an extraordinary relationship, with Bouchakour expressing:

“Peyo is my other half, he is my life partner, he is everything to me.”

Originally, they were participating in equestrian shows together. However, after he had completed his showmanship responsibilities, “the Doctor” would go up to certain people and remain stubbornly beside them.

DISCOVERING PEYO’S GIFTS

Bouchakour began to feel that his horse was approaching individuals suffering from either physical or mental pain. Extensive professional research followed this, and it was found that Peyo has distinctive brain functions.

This special animal and his trainer spend nearly every day at the Calais Hospital in France visiting patients and staff. Since they started doing so, Doctor Peyo has identified numerous cases of tumors and cancer.

Everyone knows that animals can have amazing healing powers. To this end hospitals, hospices, and nursing homes often have routine visits from dogs and cats. Sometimes even miniature horses have been brought in to visit retirement homes. But in Dijon, France, hospitals and retirement homes allow a full-sized horse come to check in on the patients and give them some extra love and kindness — often in their final hours.

Peyo, an award-winning 14-year-old stallion, visits hospitals twice a month. This may sound unsanitary to many, but rather severe precautions are taken in advance of his entrance into the building. The strict protocol includes his mane and tail being braided, greased hooves, an antibacterial lotion applied to his entire body, and being covered with a blanket.

While his owner, Hassen Bouchakour, is with Peyo at all times,  the horse is given free rein to go where he wants to and he has an innate talent for choosing to go into patient rooms where people need him most. This often means that he is visiting those who are the sickest or dying. A sort of silent communication seems to spring up even with those who can no longer speak.

Peyo, whose background is in artistic dressage, has no fear of being in a strange place and even the elevators don’t seem to faze him. He is totally at home as he cruises the halls. His gentle manner is soothing, engaging, and friendly. Even his relationship with Bouchakour is also amazing. They are extremely close and have an intimate understanding of one another.

Check out the video below to see for yourself how he interacts with humans in his intuitive way:

Patients who tend to be angry and aggressive become calm. Patients who don’t want to walk anymore start walking. Patients who don’t speak suddenly find words. Some of the ladies in senior homes even go to the hairdresser the day before Peyo comes so that they will look their best. The medical staffs call it magical.

When Bouchakour first started training Peyo things weren’t going well. It was to the point that he had put the horse up for sale. Then one day things just clicked and they finally understood one another. As they traveled together for shows Bouchakour noticed that the horse was drawn to interact with the disabled. The normally fiery animal would become gentle at their touch.

After Bouchakour lost someone close to him he decided to take Peyo on a new adventure for both of them For three years they trained to get Peyo used to walking calmly on different surfaces and get used to a lot of noise. Most importantly, he needed to be able to take care of his “needs’ when told to — in other words, he was housebroken.

This should really not be too surprising since therapeutic horseback riding has been established for disabled people for decades. This is just a different approach that doesn’t require people to be in the saddle to interact with the animal.

Oh, and if the name Peyo sounds vaguely familiar to you, it is also the name of the Belgian man who created the Smurfs. Another soul who sometimes dealt with “the blues.”

Meet a Miracle Horse: Peyo the Healer

People who raise horses often claim that the animals have a therapeutic effect on them. In fact, horse therapy is a recognized form of treatment. In France, a horse by the name of “Peyo” is well known as an excellent “therapist” that helps sick people get better.

Peyo is a 14-year-old stallion from the city of Dijon. Two times a month, he visits hospitals in the locality. While the thought of a horse entering a hospital might sound unhygienic, the administrators take every precaution to ensure that Peyo is sanitary when inside the building.

His tail and mane are braided, his hooves are greased, his body is completely covered by an anti-bacterial lotion, and a big blanket is put over him. It is only then that Peyo is allowed inside a hospital, together with his owner, Hassen Bouchakour.

Once inside, Peyo is free to go wherever he wants. Incredibly, Peyo often goes into the rooms of people who are the sickest, in many cases those who are dying. He just stands near the patients and they instantly take a liking to him. A sort of silent communication between Peyo and the patients takes place and people even cry in the horse’s presence.

“Patients who tend to be angry and aggressive become calm. Patients who don’t want to walk anymore start walking. Patients who don’t speak suddenly find words. Some of the ladies in senior homes even go to the hairdresser the day before Peyo comes so that they will look their best. The medical staff call it magical,” according to Petslady.

Peyo wasn’t always a therapy horse. When Bouchakour was traveling with Peyo for shows, he noticed that the horse was attracted to people who were disabled. Eventually, Bouchakour started taking Peyo for therapy visits and discovered that the horse was very good at making sick people happy…read more: http://www.visiontimes.com/…/meet-a-miracle-horse-peyo…
