Wild Brumby Horses in Victoria, Australia ordered to be shot while grazing or sleeping at night in remote alpine areas!
Imagine the barbaric cruelty as the first horse is wounded and tries to flee!
Australian Labour Party MP Lily D’Ambrosio has ordered the innocent horses be shot AT NIGHT with silencers by Contractors so no accountability … no idea what they are shooting!
PLEASE RING and EMAIL her office urgently to give these animals a voice!
Comment by Nelle- this woman is reprehensible and has no interest in talking to you-she doesn’t even acknowledge your e-mails- she is evil and needs to be held to account-but who can do it- govt is corrupt to its core- interested only in lining their pockets at your expense-a pox on them-they have no right but we of course -have no say
‘Horrific’ find in NSW national park as beloved brumbies shot dead

WARNING — DISTURBING CONTENT: Two NSW photographers were “gobsmacked” after the herd of brumbies they had been documenting were found gunned down on Sunday.
Cooma couple Michelle and Ian Brown had regularly shared pictures of the small group of horses to their 72,000 followers on Facebook.
Eleven animals were found at Kosciuszko National Park with bullet holes in their heads and bodies in circumstances Ms Brown describes as “horrific”.
At least three of the mares were pregnant at the time of death and had spontaneously aborted their foals after the shooting. Ms Brown had only just photographed them a week before the incident.
“We’ve been literally photographing these horses for four or five years. We’ve watched them grow up since they were babies,” she told Yahoo News Australia.
“It’s devastating to us. They were our horses. They’ve grown up with us, they know us and we’ve followed them every step of the way.”
Ms Brown said she was aware culling was underway on the Victorian side of the alps, but she believed control methods in NSW were largely limited to trapping.
She’s now calling on authorities to investigate and provide answers following what she describes as a “calculated attack” on her beloved horses.
Why are brumbies being removed from Kosciuszko?
National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) confirmed it is “implementing wild horse control” within the park, as part of a plan it says balances heritage with conservation.
“All control measures under the plan are required to meet the highest possible animal welfare standards. These standards are being met,” a NPWS spokesperson said.
NPWS did not verify whether it was responsible for the cull, and cited a policy of not releasing details of specific operations.
Brumby management continues to be a highly contentious issue in NSW and Victoria, and NPWS said withholding information helps protect its staff, contractors and visitors, as well as the welfare of wild horses.
Old Mountain Brumby”

As the frost sets on the snow grass, in the high country tonight,
The old brumb’s are grazing, beneath the mountain stars so bright.
The creeks are slowly trickling, as the night owl make his call,
They can’t see it coming, but tomorrow they’ll kill them all.
So here’s to you old mountain brumby, tonight we’ll raise a glass,
Thanks for all the yesterday’s, your memories will forever last.
You’ve stood by our side, without care of your own fate,
I’m so sorry for tomorrow, I don’t understand the hate.
As the first grey streaks of daylight lighten up your land,
Please try to find a hollow, it’s too late to make a stand.
When you hear the choppers breaking the silence of the dawn,
Run old mate, I tried to help, for your family we will mourn.
So here’s to you old mountain brumby, tonight we’ll raise a glass
Thanks for all the yesterday’s, your memories will forever last.
You’ve stood by our side, without care of your own fate
And I’m sorry for tomorrow, I don’t understand the hate.
I can hear your filly calling,
Whinnying through the bush;
Looking for her mother;
Gunned down in their first push.
I can hear you panting,
Almost out of breath.
Trying to outrun the hate,
Trying to avoid your own death
So here’s to you old mountain brumby, tonight we’ll raise a glass,
Thanks for all the yesterday’s, your memories will forever last.
You’ve stood by our side, without care of your own fate,
I’m so sorry for tomorrow, I don’t understand the hate.
As the frost sets on the snow grass, in the high country tonight,
All your mates have disappeared, all slaughtered out of sight.
The bush has fallen silent, the brumby is now gone,
Their ignorance has taken you, and forever we will mourn.

LEST WE FORGET
My father’s father rode to war
He never spoke of what he saw
Ramrod straight and carved from steel
I never saw him cry
I took him to the mountains wild
He’d not been there since a child
Blue Waterholes down to Long Plain road
He searched the horizon with an eagle eye
We stopped the night off Port Phillip trail
I listened in awe to his mountain tales
But a boy when he left for war
Childhood gone for evermore
The morning light came cool and slow
Plains and valleys cast in eerie glow
A wildling Bay stepped from the swirling mist
Head help high and proud
This is the horse that served me well
He carried me through a living hell
Ancestral blood courses through his veins
I can see it in his eyes
I know it’s not the same brave horse
My Mahogany was abandoned to the sands of course
I left him on that fateful shore
My heart stopped there evermore
The Brumby fixed us with his gaze
My father’s father recalling yonder days
His hands trembled and his voice shook
When the horse walked to his side
Broke so many a soldiers heart
That day, alone, forced to depart
History has not served them well
Now the Brumbies face a living hell
My father’s father cried.
