Pretend Aborigines

May be an image of map

This is a map of Aboriginal tribes across Australia and frequently shown in schools. It will be interesting to see how governments negotiate treaties. Queensland’s treaty is expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars and there are 150 tribes in Queensland alone. Who will pay and to whom? Why should people with no links to the colonial past be expected to pay taxes to fund this? Especially with so many questionable claims of aboriginality? Anyone thinking of voting YES for the Voice – where a treaty and reparations are intended consequences – must consider the unintended consequences of endless high court challenges and the future of development in Australia.
