Last week the Swiss government hit the headlines with its surprise announcement that it would no longer be recommending Covid vaccines. While other countries, including the UK, were busy announcing plans for their 2023 rollout, the Swiss Federal Office for Public Health (FOPH) and the Federal Commission for Vaccination Issues (EKIF) revoked the vaccine recommendation for all age groups, including those designated at high risk, namely the over-65s and pregnant women.
You could be forgiven for thinking that in the light of damning reports confirming serious side-effects and deaths resulting from widespread, even mandatory, vaccination programmes worldwide, the Swiss decision was prompted by caution and health priorities.
But no. It’s all because the vaccines have been so successful! Or so they would have us believe. The Swiss authorities have described their ‘achievement’ thus: ‘Nearly everyone has been vaccinated and/or contracted and recovered from Covid-19. Their immune system has therefore been exposed to the coronavirus. In spring/summer 2023, the virus will likely circulate less. The current variants also cause rather mild illness.’
Nowhere do they retract any of the claims made at the outset of the pandemic, and posted through everyone’s letterbox, that the vaccines were safe and effective. Nor have they banned the vaccines. Official blanket recommendations have been withdrawn, but doctors may continue to administer vaccines in individual cases under certain conditions, but should they do so the doctors themselves will bear the risk of liability for any vaccination damage.
The Federal Office for Public Health strategy document of November 2022 states that ‘compensation by the federal government to injured persons for vaccination damage can only be considered for vaccinations officially recommended or ordered’. In practice however, the government stepped in only if the damage was not covered by the vaccine manufacturer, the person vaccinating, or an insurance company.
Given the volume of advice circulated at the outset of the pandemic in Switzerland, already reported in TCW, that the vaccines are safe and getting jabbed was socially responsible, it is hardly likely that the ‘person vaccinating’, ie the doctor, would have personally given every patient detailed information about the risks, the side-effects and the limited effectiveness of the Covid vaccinations.
In addition, the authorities will be minded of the potential responsibilities of corporate liability, given the lawsuit currently hanging over Swissmedic, the regulatory authority, on behalf of six people allegedly injured by mRNA vaccinations. This has also been reported by TCW, when the lawyer Philipp Kruse went public with a media conference. Swissmedic has yet to issue any detailed statement regarding the case.
So, as ever, when a door is closed, a window is left open elsewhere. Vaccines have been so successful that we don’t need blanket coverage any more, but let’s allow the doctors to continue with them, in their good judgment and at their financial and professional risk. Just in case we need to roll them out again some time soon.
Which, interestingly, would be far too late to mop up the vast stockpile of vaccines currently going to waste in Swiss warehouses. The FOPH says that 12.5million ‘ready-to-use’ doses of vaccine are available for the 8.7million Swiss population, and the government has committed to purchasing a further 11.6million doses this year. This has coincided with a huge drop in demand, with 460 shots per day administered in February, compared with 3,300 per day in the previous year. Already the authorities have binned 3.4million doses which have passed expiry dates. A further 5.9million shots stored in Belgium for distribution to developing countries have also had to be destroyed, while 1.8million doses will expire at the end of May. The total cost of the wastage so far is estimated at £290million. Perhaps another reason not to ban the vaccines. Or perhaps a factor in the apparently schizophrenic Swiss policy stance? How can any government admit the extent of their folly?
In spite of its limitations, however, the news has been welcomed, not least by Dr Robert Malone, who wrote: ‘This is big news! Switzerland stops the Covid vaccinations. All vaccination recommendations have been withdrawn.’ But a couple of days earlier he wrote about the wider implications of vaccine policy, dealing with the underlying power of government propaganda to facilitate widespread attacks on individual liberties. He calls this globally co-ordinated propaganda a ‘mind virus’, and identifies how these policy decisions have implemented ‘the current state-of-the-art, including fifth generation warfare, nudge theory, psy-ops, and the censorship-industrial complex’.
As the Covid crisis winds down, he asks the two basic questions we are left with: Will there be any real accountability commensurate with the damage done? And what will they do to us next?
He fears that the answer to the first is that ‘it is highly unlikely that anything more than some token sacrifice to the gods of public opinion will happen, if even that.’ To the second, his advice is to batten down the hatches, foreseeing many decades of stormy seas ahead from the overlord classes who have become so invested in ‘globalism, utilitarianism, Malthusianism, command-economy Marxism, and Woke-ism’.
His personal solution is ‘working to break the stranglehold of the modern administrative state and its Uniparty facilitators on media and information’, and he invites us to accompany him in this undertaking, stating: ‘Freedom is a meaningless concept if we are not even allowed the tools and ability to think for ourselves. And I must live free, free to choose, or I will surely die a miserable death at the conclusion of a hollowed-out and meaningless life.’
That has great resonance for those of us who stood against the pressure to submit to the vaccine imperative, but Dr Malone has certainly got his work cut out. At least for me, here in East Switzerland, I no longer have to worry so much about hiding my unvaxxed status, and know that for the time being I will be afforded choice in my medical treatment. I was especially gratified to spy a fellow traveller the other day, having coffee in my local Migros café, who was proud to flaunt his views.
I congratulated him on his cool T-shirt, and we shook hands to celebrate our freedom.
