It is Palm Sunday today, the day Christians remember in commemoration of Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey whilst people cheered and laid down palm fronds and cloaks in front of him on the road.
I am going to jump straight in to looking at anagrams of the words ‘Palm Sunday’ and see what turns up related to Jesus.
Anagrams of Palm Sunday
Day sunlamp – He is the Light of the World, and the Son of God which sound like sun
May uplands – reminding me of the sunlit uplands and the beauty of the floral month of May in the UK.

I note the first of the “unattackable” problems, the Goldbach Conjecture, is “at least it seems that every number that is greater than 2 is the sum of three primes”. I see that Goldbach considered the number 1 to be a prime, a convention that is no longer followed.
Well I consider ‘1’ should be a prime, the first prime as it represents God.
Therefore the three primes would be the Trinity; the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Adam NY plus – well, Jesus is said to be the second Adam by Paul the apostle in 1 Corinthians 15 v.45
Man day plus – Jesus is the Man and the day, the day light and more, much more.
PS dy manual – Jesus is the Post Script, the last Word of God, and the manual of life. Which is also why He is Emanuel, God with us. Emanuel sounds like ‘He manual’.
Layman pd us – Jesus was not a scribe or a Pharisee, in His time he might be considered a layman, He was the common man of us, a man like us, see for example Hebrews 2:17.
An asylum pd – Jesus is an asylum, a place of safety.
PS malady UN – He is the healing word for the malady, the sickness, the sin of the United Nations, the world.
Maundy pals – to remind us of what is called Maundy Thursday a few days from now, when He was with His pals, His friends at what is called the Last Supper.
My sandal up – to remind us of that meal where He washed the feet of His disciples. And of course when He was on that donkey on Palm Sunday His sandals were up off the ground!
Adman ply us – He is the adman, the advertiser of the ways of God which we are to follow.
Anus damply – this amuses me if only because if you sit on an ass in Israel, your bottom may get hot and sweaty!
DNA amply us – perhaps the most significant anagram, Jesus is our DNA, the instructions for life, the codes sufficient for us
My DNA pal us – which reinforces the above
Al any dumps – if you are feeling down in the dumps, Jesus is the Al, the Angel to lift you up from any situation.
Man sadly up – yet He was a man of sorrows

The word ‘palm trees’
In John 12 v.13 the Greek word is φοινίκων, ‘phoinikōn’. There is only one occurrence of the word in this from.
It is derived from φοίνιξ, phoinix. Yet this translates as phoenix in Google Translate. The imagery is that this is symbolic of the immortal bird that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again.

It is symbolic of Christ and of those who follow Him.
The word ‘phoinikōn’ anagrams to
Nikon oh pi – this suggests a camera (ikon means image).
But in Revelation ‘phoinikes’ is the exact word used; this is the only occurrence of this word in this form. See Revelation 7 v.9

Now remember in the book of Revelation the phrase repeated, ‘let him who has an ear to hear let him hear’.
I listen with my ear and I hear ‘iPhone’!
So read the passage in Revelation and consider the circumstances.
“After this I looked and saw a multitude too large to count, from every nation and tribe and people and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.”
Now I hope you see the significance of this in these end times!
Summary and final thoughts
Well, nearly 2,000 years ago Jesus rode into Jerusalem riding a donkey. As a consequence you could say he was making an ass of Himself, sitting on His ass on an ass!
Paul the apostle says in 1 Cointhians 4 v.10 “We are fools for Christ…” The word in Greek is moroi, meaning in essence ‘morons’!
Well, Jesus cannot make a fool for Himself but note Paul also said in 1 Corinthians 1 v.27 “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.”
Jesus became weak in the eyes of the world and the power it values, yet he shamed the authorities in His weakness.
Note again ‘foolish’ is ‘mora’, the same root meaning as moron. Mora can be viewed as mo ra, 2 words meaning ‘my ra’ or ‘my God’ even ‘my sun’. Ra was the Egyptian sun god, but Jesus is the Son which sounds the same.
The heavenly Father chose His Son to go to the earth, although I suspect it was a joint decision, Jesus saying ‘Here I am, send me.”

There’s more as an anagram of mora is ‘O RAM’, like ‘oh Random Access Memory’.
Jesus is the Father’s Random Access Memory.
But then Jesus is also the lamb of God, the sacrificial lamb, the male lamb, a Ram.
And yet more as an anagram of mora is ‘Omar’, meaning “flourishing, long lived” in Arabic.

Note also “eloquent” in Hebrew mentioned in above link. The word Omer sounds very similar and derived from “sheaf” or bundle of grain.
Jesus is the sheaf like the grain offering to be offered in the temple of which Joseph in Genesis was a type.
What more can one say? Well, I would say bread is derived from grain so, as Jesus is the Bread of life, you can make the connections.
And you can read Jesus who is the b read, the ‘b’ representing a son as in the Hebrew ‘ben’ or as in ‘b’ for baby.
So why not wave your palms, your hands before God in gratitude today. You can lay your palms on the ground if you wish to feel God’s good earth.
But don’t leave them there in case some ass tries to run over them!!!
