A World Of Spin

Our world is on an axis as we spin from West to East,

revolving in circumference around the sun for light and heat.

One revolution to establish date and time,

weather systems come and go, the process so sublime.

Everyone’s an expert, the world is full of spin,

bombarded with their bullshit and we take it on the chin.

Broadcast on the radio, projected on our screens,

someone’s on there day and night, reds, blues and greens.

A college education and their certified degrees,

a course in public speaking and their promised guarantees.

Spruik and spin their theories, their rants and raves and fears,

a waste of space and purpose,

a mouthpiece with no ears.

What we did was never right and how we did it, wrong,

some hellbent to change the world, their voices loud and strong.

Climate change they call it, they say they have the proof,

their heavens broken open, now they’re sitting on their roof.

Never met the locals, didn’t think to ask,

all built on the floodplains with rivers flowing past.

A wealthy few can buy the view, the realtor spun and won,

one hundred year rain events, investments came undone.

A globe now full of graduates, it’s on for young and old,

carbon trades, left and right, who can and can’t be told.

The spin is catastrophic, good news doesn’t sell,

will the world come to an end,

guess only time will tell.
