The Centre for Independent Studies’ Peter Kurti says we need to ensure the school curriculum and teaching of history don’t try to “sidestep or tear down” our past and identity but help children come to terms with it.

This comes as a new report by the Centre for Independent Studies has found a “national shame” produced by identity politics has overtaken Australian classrooms.

“Increasingly, children are being taught national shame, and we’re seeing that history is being used as a weapon to degrade the nation, to provoke feelings of guilt and to really tear at any sense of Australia identity,” Mr Kurti told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
