The eye-watering cost of filling up a vehicle with fuel in Britain has been revealed by new data showing how much motorists pay to fill up their tanks all over the world.
Motorists in Russia pay around 94p a litre less for their petrol than drivers in Britain, according to figures from FairFuelUK.
Australian fuel price 60 cents a litre cheaper than UK yet we should have the lowest pump price of diesel and petrol in the world, instead the deregulating, free-trading LNP/ALP duopoly forced the closure of fuel refineries and allowed the export of our largely untapped crude oil supplies for a pittance. The federal government excise of 38 cents a litre for diesel and petrol, plus Howard’s GST of 10 per cent provide a bonanza for the corporate coffers every time a litre is sold at the pump.
