CALIFORNIA, the playground of neo-Marxist revolutionaries like LA Mayor Karen Bass, has just done what the Black Power revolutionaries tried to do back in the late 1960s – burn down America. Their battle cry was “Burn, Baby Burn!”
Fire is an important tool for revolutionaries: You burn down the old and replace it with the “new society”. In LA’s case the new society is the Smart City to be built up in The Palisades area in conjunction with the all-important 2028 LA Olympics. Well hey Chuck, it looks like the required property acquisitions have just become way cheaper!
NBC news reported that some 180,000 people are under evacuation orders, and the fires have consumed about 45 square miles (117 square kilometers) — roughly the size of San Francisco. The Palisades Fire is already the most destructive in Los Angeles’ history.
And as for insurance, another disaster. State Farm, one of the biggest US insurance companies, announced in April 2024 it would cancel policies for 72,000 houses (30,000) and apartments. About 1600 of those homes were in Pacific Palisades.
Meanwhile Swingin’ eco-friendly California Governor Gavin Newsom was on the phone yesterday, trying to get through to big bro Biden for some giant-sized hand-outs. Gav had better hope that the Big Guy is in a generous mood, because the new President in about 10 days won’t be dishing money out without some conditions.
Newsom, who President-elect Trump calls Newscum, paved the way for the water shortage by destroying four major dams that previously held stored water for the sprawling city and other areas. Newsom bragged that the demolition of the four dams on the Klamath River in Oregon and California was the largest dam removal project in history.
The Governor and his Green Left lunatics thought it more important to restore salmon fishing for indigenous tribes along the river and to keep the tiny delta smelt fish supplied with the fresh water they apparently need to survive.
Meanwhile, as noted by Trump during a tour of California, previously fertile farmland was left to turn brown, suburban dwellers were banned from removing underbrush and forests were locked up without maintenance. Newsom also refused to sign a water restoration declaration that would have provided millions of gallons of additional water to the state.
Mayor Bass and her administration did their part by undermining the LA Fire Department and sending “excess equipment” to Ukraine to be blown up. She also cut more than $17 million from its 2024-25 budget after hiring a lesbian gender activist as fire chief.
Able-bodied white men were also banned from applying for fire-fighting jobs in favour of Latino and Black people, preferably women. A large number of existing fire fighters were also sacked because they refused to get mRNA shots.
Meanwhile video has emerged of fire crews in LA using buckets and even a woman’s handbag to get water from a tanker and throw it over flames. Even Gen-Z girls can see through Newsom and company’s spectacular incompetence, or more likely, wanton destruction in the name of “reform”.
Prominent academic and commentator, Michael Schellenberger, predicted that over the next few weeks Newsom, Mayor Bass, and the Democratic Party will say there’s nothing that could have been done to prevent the fires from destroying LA.
“Those will be lies. They could have prevented them. Governor Newsom cut the funding for preventing forest fires and failed to build sufficient water resources for fighting fires. Mayor Karen Bass cut $17.5 million in funding for the Los Angeles Fire Department and then went to Ghana even though she knew of the risk of catastrophic fires,” he posted on X.
“It’s true that California, in general, and Los Angeles, in particular, are fiery places. It’s true that the Santa Ana winds made the fires worse. But Newsom and Bass have known about those hazards for all of their careers and failed to deal with them. Their rank incompetence and lack of leadership are shocking and scandalous.
“It’s hard to overstate how badly they screwed up water management. LA firefighters haven’t had the water they needed. Newsom hasn’t built the new water reservoirs that Los Angeles needed. And Newsom even cut the budget for water infrastructure projects last year.
“Why is that? Part of the reason is that they were focused on other things. Making the fire department more racially diverse. Climate change. Homelessness, and the reason they were focused on those things is because those are what the radical Left that controls the Democratic party wanted them to focus on.”
Schellenberger says Democrats in California aren’t like Democrats in other states. “They are radicals. I would know, since when I was a young radical I moved to California for that reason.”
But he and others became more moderate with aged, understanding that firefighters and police officers are necessary. “We are reminded of the importance of things like safe streets and hard work and good schools.
“But more than that, I saw the consequences of radical progressive policies on the environment, homelessness, crime, education, water, and everything else. Violent criminals, in particular, are devouring Los Angeles, Oakland, and the rest of California.”
Schellenberger noted that Democrat and Marxist author Mike Davis, in his book City of Quartz claims that the problem in Los Angeles is that too much money goes to things like firefighting to protect wealthy neighborhoods.
“They did the same thing on crime and homelessness. They failed to provide adequate funding to the police. They weakened the laws that allowed for burglaries and robberies. They subsidized homelessness, attracting homeless people from around the United States to camp illegally and start fires.
“Over half of the fires in places like Los Angeles and Oakland are caused by the homeless committing arson, often out of some petty revenge.”
Schellenberger says another entrenched problem in LA is anti-white racism. “I watched focus groups in 2022 and the most racist people were white liberals in Los Angeles. When they discussed the mayoral race, the white people overwhelmingly said they couldn’t vote for a white man and had to vote for a black woman because she was black.”
Latino men and women in separate focus groups were much less racist and wanted to know about their policies, but it was the radical Left that invented the racist idea that white people alive today should feel guilty about things white people did in the past.
“Racist white guilt led people in Los Angeles and California to vote against a guy who would have prevented those fires.”
