Mountain Cattlemen’s Association of Victoria

MONDAY MEMORIES: The Pendergast family have been in Omeo since it was first settled, with some records placing the first Irish born Pendergast in the area around 1836. They were the first family to grow a wheat crop in the district and used to drove their cattle across the mountains to sell at the Sydney markets. Pendergast’s still live in Omeo today.

Pictured are Charles Pendergast, Cornelius Pendergast, Louis Pendergast Surveyor JJ Pendergast and WJC Pendergast.
