With friends like Australia, Israel hardly needs enemies

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong’s solidarity with Israel lasted a fortnight which, to be fair, was longer than most would have predicted.
But yesterday she crab walked away from the only liberal democracy in the Middle East, tut-tutting Israel for the crimes of Hamas.
With the situation in the Middle East demanding moral clarity, Wong released a word salad full of wrong-headed assumptions, and then addressed it to the wrong party.
Comment by Nelle-the Wong strikes again – Wong is a Chinese Malay and as she won’t show her papers one has to assume she still is and not Australian-to have her as foreign minister beggars belief- Bishop was reprehensible but I have no words for this one
