Australia is on the front lines of the climate crisis. In the Murray-Darling basin, a source of fresh water and food for millions of people, widespread droughts have turned rivers and lakes into dry troughs. Bloomberg’s Matthew Campbell traveled through some of the hardest-hit areas of the Murray-Darling to investigate how Australian businesses and government are responding to the crisis.
The Murray-Darling river system was the lifeblood to those who lived in that area-it was running full with the wet season in the north and the water flowing south. There are always dry times in Australia but with the abundance of water people have over used the system and this has been made worse by the bureaucrats who stole the water after John Howard took it from the farmers selling it to overseas buyers to the detriment of Australian farmers who couldn’t buy it back and so our food supply was restricted -it has nothing to do with the climate scam and everything to do with the greed of some Australians featuring their nests at the cost of their countryman and indeed selling out their country-Australia has always been a rich country but with politicians in illegal govts stripping the country of its assets and over running the country with impossible amounts of refugees to live here at no cost taking homes and indeed livelihoods of Australian citizens so that many now live on the streets, no food no jobs no hope all because of bloody politicians , with poor policies taking too much tax when people did have jobs pushing up the cost of living, energy and the reality and capability of owning a home or indeed living in the country they were born in and expected to live comfortably up to retirement and beyond became a bridge too far. leaving us in the dire straits we are living in today
