A Day in the Life of Nelle

Every so often I have to take time out to reconnect with yesterday’s Australia -just to escape the nefarious people who are continually in my face- wickedness has always been with us but I have only come face to face with it for a short time- the majority of my life these people were not in my world now they threaten to take it over- I find solace and reconnect when watching the Man from Snowy River- the beautiful mountains the soul stirring music and the young man who is the epitome of what Aussie manhood used to be honest, hardworking filled with integrity evoking the meaning of Aussie spirit which stirs the memories- the first movie tells that story the second not so much -still has the mountains, music and the steadfast young man – but watching it again I realised that it had been corrupted by Americanism -for instance a well brought up young lady would never ride off into the mountains without first been blessed by a priest-this was set in the 1890’s for heaven sake-it was 100 years before the moral code was dropped in Australia we are always 20 years behind the Americans when they dropped theirs give or take a year or two- originally a wedding had been filmed but cut out of the movie (I have that clip) why would they cut that out it was only a few minutes long and then I realised America had taken over our iconic movie as they do-remember the poor chap who invented the UGG boot and an American tried to steal the name -may well have but I still buy them as slippers and I make sure it is an Australian I am doing business with-in Australia we had it all and living in a back water I thought we had escaped scrutiny of the world, more fool me the world has woken up to what we had, wanted it and is taking it just like the Ugg boots

I am interested in writing short stories for my pleasure and my family's but although I have published four family books I will not go down that path again but still want what I write out there so I will see how this goes
