Dear Editor
Your article today about extended waiting times for PCR tests in Cairns is nothing short of amazing. I subscribe to two American publications and both have a story about the US Centre for Disease Control taking the PCR test kits off the market in December because they don’t work.
The CDC has been distributing the PCR test since Covid was introduced. Their website says they are unreliable and should not used as a diagnostic tool.
How come the state government keeps using them? The article said the developer of the PCR test the late Dr Kary Mullis warned medical authorities not to use it for Covid testing. Why did the state government shut down the state causing billions of dollars losses to small business because of an unsuitable test kit?
