We were one,
And we were many,
And from all the lands on earth we’d come.
We shared a dream
And sung with one voice.
I am, you are,
We were Australian.
But now we’re many,
And no longer are we one
A fractured society,
Sadly we’ve become.
We no longer share a dream.
And no longer sing with one voice.
We once,
Were all Australians.
From the white sands of our beaches,
To the dusty red soil plains,
A vision is needed,
To reclaim our nation back again.
To bring us back together,
To reclaim what we have lost,
What was traded away,
Without a thought of the final cost.
I think of our children,
And what they would inherit,
No stores left in the cupboard,
No energy left to spare it.
No, plan for water security,
No plan for our rich food bowls,
No plan for our defence,
Should our nation fall a foul.
To forsake our future,
In an effort to reconcile the past,
Is indeed a strawman proposition,
For a country that won’t last.
The future is for everyone,
To make it exactly as they please,
So think of this at voting time
And the minority, they’re trying to please
